Zhejiang Expressway co. signs agreement to acquire 55% stake in Zhajiasu Expressway

Zhejiang Expressway co. and all shareholders of Jiaxing Zhajiasu Expressway Co., Ltd. (Zhajiasu Company) have signed an equity transfer agreement to acquire 55% of Zhajiasu Company at a total price of CNY771.65 million (US$120 million). This transaction is the company's first acquisition of a private expressway project. 

Zhajiasu Company is responsible for the operation of the Zhajiasu Expressway, which is part of Zhejiang Province’s highway network planning. The highway acts as the main trunk line to Jiangsu and an important transportation link connecting the Southern Jiangsu Economic Zone and the Hangjiahu Economic Zone with providing access to the two cities of Jiaxing and Dagang Port. The two-way four-lane highway is 50.281 kilometers long. Occupying the location advantage of Hangjiahu, the traffic volume of Zhajiasu Expressway has continued to grow steadily in recent years.
