World Bank launches two consultancy tenders for Greater Beirut BRT PPP Project

The International Finance Corporation, a unit of World Bank, has launched two tender processes for interested firms to deliver technical consultancy services for the Greater Beirut Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project. 

The Greater Beirut BRT project corridor includes 22.7 km on the Northern Highway and 20 km in the Center of Beirut. It will be complemented by about 20 lines of a regular and feeder bus network as well as investments to improve access (bus stops, sidewalks, park and ride facilities). The required bus fleet for the whole program is over 1,000 buses.

IFC will assist the Government of Lebanon in delivering the operation and maintenance of the project under the public-private partnership (PPP) investment scheme. 

IFC is calling for services of a qualified communication to assist, during all phases of the project, on all aspects related to communication and stakeholders engagement, as well as GoSs reach out to key stakeholders including existing bus operators active in Beirut.

IFC is also calling for services of a qualified technical consultant to assist, during all phases of the project, on all technical aspects of the project, including environmental and social aspects. 

The deadline for the submission of documents for the communication consultancy services is April 2, 2019, while the deadline for the technical consultancy services is April 3, 2019.
