World Bank launches tender for the pre-feasibility study for Tashkent to Andijan Road (TAR) upgrade

The World Bank has launched tender for interested firms to deliver the pre-feasibility study for the upgrade of 385-m Tashkent to Andijan Road (TAR) to expressway standards under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme.

The World Bank will support the Government of Uzbekistan to carry out the study that will identify the appropriate PPP model(s) to:

  • upgrade TAR to expressway standards, including the construction of a possible new tunnel through the Kamchik Pass and supporting ancillary infrastructure;
  • identify appropriate PPPs models to upgrade TAR, including whether a phased approach should be considered; and
  • detail additional preparatory activities required and estimate expenses to take the transaction(s) to the bidding­stage

The deadline for the submission of the documents to participate in the tender is on May 28, 2019.
