World Bank launches tender for the pre-feasibility study for Tashkent to Andijan Road (TAR) upgrade
The World Bank has launched tender for interested firms to deliver the pre-feasibility study for the upgrade of 385-m Tashkent to Andijan Road (TAR) to expressway standards under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme.
The World Bank will support the Government of Uzbekistan to carry out the study that will identify the appropriate PPP model(s) to:
- upgrade TAR to expressway standards, including the construction of a possible new tunnel through the Kamchik Pass and supporting ancillary infrastructure;
- identify appropriate PPPs models to upgrade TAR, including whether a phased approach should be considered; and
- detail additional preparatory activities required and estimate expenses to take the transaction(s) to the biddingstage
The deadline for the submission of the documents to participate in the tender is on May 28, 2019.
