The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has announced that the works on the Yucao and Guamal bridges in the 4G Malla Vial del Meta project are completed.
Two key structures will connect Puerto López with Puerto Gaitán and Villavicencio with Granada: the 130-m Yucao bridge and the 230-m Guamal bridge.
The fourth-generation Malla Vial del Meta project, awarded by ANI, includes the Granada – Villavicencio and Villavicencio – Puerto López – Puerto Gaitán corridors. Additionally, the Fundadores intersection will be improved on the ring road of Meta's capital, with a new route connecting it to the 4G Villavicencio-Yopal corridor. The project encompasses a total of 267.5 km of road, with 260 km currently in the operation and maintenance phase. The remaining 7.3 km will be for the new road between the Catama Intersection and Puente Amarillo. The project also includes 3 km of improvements and 26 km of new second roadway (10.6 km between Acacías and la Cuncia, 9 km between la Cuncia and Ciudad Porfía, and 6.2 km between the Ocoa River and the access to the Apiay district). With an investment of US$852,422 million, these works will benefit nearly one million residents of municipalities in the area, including Villavicencio, Acacías, Guamal, San Martín, Granada, Puerto López, and Puerto Gaitán.
