The Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives in Pakistan along with PPP Authority and Pakistan Railways has stated that works on Karachi Circular Railway will start in the current fiscal year 2020. Karachi Circular Railway will be developed in three different phases. The authority will assume charge on different phases of the project and will ensure timely completion of the project. The project is expected to be completed by 2023. The project will provide modern transport facilities to the inhabitants of Karachi and attract investments from private companies.
The authority is expecting to hire a consultant in the next few weeks, which will overlook the procurement process for the project. The illegal encroachment to the land within the project scope will be removed by the Sindh government.
