The Ministry of Public Works has started work on the Bicentenario Cable Car, which will connect the communes of Huechuraba, Providencia, Las Condes and Vitacura in Santiago, Chile.

The cable car is projected to accommodate 3,000 passengers per hour in both directions, requiring an investment of US$80 million. The system will feature three stations, serving the Business City, Metropolitan Park, and Tobalaba. As the city's inaugural public transport cable car, it will significantly reduce travel time from 45 minutes to just 13, less than a third of the current duration. The route of the cableway will begin at a station in the New Zealand Plaza, in the Providencia district, and will then move north through Metropolitan Park, at a station to be located east of the Antilén pool. The last stop will be located on Av. Santa Clara, a few meters from Av. El Parque in the Ciudad Empresarial, in the district of Huechuraba

Expected to be operational in 2026, the system will include 19 towers or cable support structures, and 122 modern cabins with a 10-passenger capacity each, covering a distance of 3.2 km.
