The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) contracted with Woolpert to conduct a stormwater system evaluation to investigate the cause of surface depressions that formed near a large stormwater pipe at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND), Indiana, USA.

Woolpert utilized closed-circuit television (CCTV) technology at Indianapolis International Airport (IND) and identified deformities in stormwater pipes, leading to joint separation and the infiltration of fill material, resulting in depressions.

The IAA sought to upgrade its existing wastewater treatment facilities, which were nearing the end of their useful life. It also wanted to ensure compliance with increasingly stringent environmental regulations. The IAA also sought to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of its stormwater and wastewater management systems. The IAA received several proposals from private sector consortiums in response to the RFQ. However, the project was ultimately canceled in 2017 due to a lack of consensus among IAA board members on the best way to proceed.

The IAA is currently exploring other options for upgrading its wastewater treatment facilities and stormwater management systems.
