The Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES) has announced Farah Service as the winner of the concession auction for the Serra do Conduru State Park located in the southern region of the state, between the municipalities of Ilhéus, Uruçuca and Itacaré, Brazil.
The project intends to increase the potential for ecotourism development and conserve the remaining areas of Atlantic forest in the region.
The winning company has proposed a grant of BRL144,444.44 (US$27,489) for the concession. The project foresees an initial investment of BRL8 million (1.52 million) and has a concession period of 30 years. An amount of BRL113 million (US$21.50 million) is expected to be invested during the operation period of the project.
The structuring of the concession was carried out by BNDES, and the contracting authority is the Government of Bahia.
