The London Borough of Redbridge has announced UK-based developer Countryside as the winner for co-rehabilitation under the Ilford Western Gateway public-private partnership (PPP) project in the UK.
The project will create a parent-led kindergarten that will provide learning opportunities as well as affordable childcare for local residents. It is also planned to create a well-maintained public campus, creating a strong connection and easy access to the city's new cultural quarters and a boxing gym. The project is part of the redevelopment of Ilford Town Center to transform it into a vibrant metropolitan area.
The scope of works involves the construction of up to 1000 new homes with excellent amenities and services, well-connected and attractive and green spaces, and 800sqm of commercial and community spaces, so local shops, restaurants, and community groups can make the most of the regenerated area. Construction work on the site will begin in the spring of 2024.
