The Public-Private Partnership Department under the Ministry of Transport (MoT) has selected Son Hai Corporation as a winning contractor for the North-South expressway sub-project section Nha Trang – Cam Lam in Vietnam. This is the first awarded project since the PPP law came into force last June. The winner will build, transfer and operate the section following the completion of a national competitive bidding process.
With a length of 50 kilometers, the Nha Trang and Cam Lam sub-project section will have four lanes and 80 km/hour of average speed. The estimated investment in this sub-project is VND5.52 trillion (US$240 million), from which Soi Hai Corporation will mobilize VND2.55 trillion (US$111 million). The contract's own equity accounts for 20%, while the state funds VND2.96 trillion (US$128.7 million).
The section Nha Trang – Cam Lam is expected to be built by 2023 with a payback period of 16 years and 4 months.
