The Consortium Sonda has won the auction with the BRL2,290 million proposal (US$474.48 million) for the implementation of the Infovia Digital PPP project in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.
The consortium intends to provide high-speed, high-capacity data transmission services through a fiber-optic network to 1,500 administrative units in 79 municipalities. The auction has valued the bid at 53.04% below the maximum suggested amount.
The scope of work includes the construction of 6,950 km of fiber-optic network, free Wi-Fi and tele-surveillance in 129 public squares, monitoring based on optical character recognition technology on state highways, 15,000 IP extensions, and the development of the Network Operations Center (COR) in Campo Grande. The project has a concession period of 30 years.
