The Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Statens Vegvesen) has selected Sostra Link as a winner consortium for the RV 555 Sotrasambandet PPP project (Sotra Connection) in Norway.
The Sostra Link is formed by Webuild, FCC Construcción S.A., SK Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd. and Macquarie Corporate Holdings Pty Limited. Under the contract worth more than EUR1 billion (USD1.18 billion), the team will be responsible for the construction and management of the RV 555 Sotra Connection PPP project. Webuild owns a 35% stake in the consortium and a 10% stake in the special purpose vehicle that will operate and maintain the project.
Located in the western Norwegian county of Vestland, the connection network is formed by roads, tunnels, bridges and viaducts. It includes 9 km of highway and a suspension bridge between Øygarden and Bergen, in addition to 12.5 kilometres of tunnels, 19 road and pedestrian underpasses, 23 tunnel portals, 22 bridges and viaducts as well as 14 kilometres of pedestrian and bicycle path. The financial close is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2022.
