A Westinghouse-Bechtel team has met with 55 Czech companies to discuss the engineers’ bid to build nuclear reactors in the Czech Republic.
The project involves the expanding the Dukovany nuclear power plant by building nuclear reactors in the Czech Republic. The project includes building a Westinghouse AP1000 unit with the option to add two units to the Temelin plant. At the end of 2022, the Westinghouse-Bechtel team, as well as the French company EDF and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, were shortlisted. Operator CEZ stated that the two power plants provide about a third of the Czech Republic's electricity.
Westinghouse said the deployment of nuclear technology in the country is advancing.
