The Water & Electricity Company (WEC) of Saudi Arabia has issued the request for expressions of interest to prequalified bidders for the Jubail phase 3 Independent Water treatment plants (IWP). The two desalination projects will be developed in Jubail, the eastern province in the Persian Golf Coast of Saudi Arabia. The Jubail 3A project will have a potable water capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per day while the Jubail 3B plant will have a capacity of 570,000 cubic meters per day.
The scope of work includes development, financing, procurement, implementation, operation and maintenance of both plants. WEC will purchase the output and entire capacity of the project, under a Water Purchase Agreement for a period of 25 years.
