Webuild with partner Moccia Irme on behalf of the City of Naples and Hitachi Rail has inaugurated San Pasquale Station Located in the central part of Riviera di Chiaiaof Line 6 of Naples' Metro.
This station connects parts of the central neighborhoods of Chiaia and San Ferdinando to the city's metro system. It is also linked to Naples' Villa Comunale, home to the Anton Dohrn Zoological Station and Aquarium. The line extends 5.5 km with eight stations, connecting the densely populated Fuorigrotta neighborhood in the west to central Piazza Municipio. It allows new interconnections with existing lines: Line 1 at Municipio, Line 2 at Mergellina and Mostra stations, and the Cumana Railway at Mostra station. In a few minutes, one can reach Piazza Amedeo station on Line 2, the Chiaia Funicular, and the Caracciolo waterfront (Lungomare).
The station's interior spans five levels, measuring 100 meters in length and 35 meters in height, resembling a sunken ship in deep sea waters. The sea theme is depicted through large colored panels in three shades of blue, simulating waves on the walls. A superior wire mesh, resembling a ship's sail, serves a multimedia function with monitors displaying cultural events in the city. The shipwreck theme is further emphasized by porthole-like features on the COR-TEN steel walls, which also illuminate the platform level.
