The Welsh Government is set to launch a commission to tackle congestion in south-east Wales, UK.
The Commission will be established to address the traffic congestion in the M4 motorway. It will operate as an independent office from the Welsh Government that will coordinate with the National Infrastructure Commission for Wales, the Future Generations Commissioner, business groups, social partners, environmental groups, transport users’ groups, local and national political representatives and the public for the improvement of the transportation sector. The Commission will also consider the South East Wales Transport Planning Model in possible solution to the motorway.
The new transport commission is introduced to the public after the government has rejected the M4 relief road plan which has faced criticism amidst cost and environmental issues.
