A vote on Miami-Dade county courthouse P3 contract has been moved to December 17. The original voting date of the County Commission was December 3. The courthouse P3 plan has to be approved by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) because part of the proposed site is tied to federal transportation funds. The FTA approval has not been granted yet, that is why the vote approving the winning bidder - Plenary Group, was postponed.
The project involves the replacement of the existing 1928 courthouse on Flagler Street in Downtown Miami. The new larger 23-story building will be built next door. Plenary will operate the facility under 30-year contract.
