Australia's telecoms provider, Vocus, has completed the acquisition of Challenge Networks, a provider of private LTE and 5G networks.
With the inclusion of Challenge Networks under Vocus, a wider range of customers can now leverage their extensive expertise in constructing and managing private LTE and 5G networks. This addition of wireless network capabilities complements Vocus' investment strategy of US$1 billion, which focuses on upgrading network capacity and deploying significant new fiber infrastructure, such as the Horizon and Highclere projects in the northwest region of Australia.
Challenge Networks specializes in the design, implementation, and operation of private 4G and 5G networks, catering to customers seeking secure, reliable, and high-capacity wireless coverage for operational technology (OT) use cases at their premises. These tailor-made mobile networks can be implemented at various locations, including mines, hospitals, universities, offshore platforms, vessels, ports, manufacturing facilities, logistics sites, or any other specialized location that demands robust and secure wireless connectivity.
