VINCI has confirmed that it is finalising the satisfaction of conditions required for the takeover of operations at Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade, Serbia, under its EUR1.2 billion (US$1.356 billion) concession contract awarded earlier this year.
Following the French Ambassador to Serbia's statement in mid-November that the takeover would occur in the coming weeks, the company has stated that will share an official takeover date shortly.
VINCI achieved financial close of the 25-year contract in November, after securing a EUR100 million (US$113 million) loan from the European Bank For Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). It has also received loan approvals for the project from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank, France's PROPARCO and Germany's Development Finance Institution DEG.
