VINCI has announced that VINCI Airports has finalized the acquisition of Fintech’s 29.99% stake in Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA) for a total amount of US$1.17 billion in Mexico.
As a result of the completion of the transaction, VINCI Airports will now operate 13 airports, including Monterrey international airport, regional and tourist airports on the Pacific coast and in the center of the country, such as Acapulco, San Luis Potosi, Torreon and Durango. Since July 2021, the airports served 21 million passengers and made flights to 170 destinations and back.
VINCI Airports will start direct flights between Monterrey and the US cities of Los Angeles, Houston, Detroit and Austin. The company also will roll out its environmental action plan, which aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
