The central province in Vietnam has proposed to develop Chu Lai Airport and seaport systems on Private-Public-Partnership (PPP) model. Both projects are proposed to be developed from investments from private sectors. The proposal was made recently after the new PPP law approved by the National Assembly. The PPP is expected to release the financial burden from the state budget.

Chu Lai Airport concession will involve the expansion of the existing airport in 3,000 ha. The airport is expected to handle 5 million passengers and 4.1 million tonnes of cargo till 2030. The airport will strengthen the logistics center for Southeast and South Asia with a serving radius of 3,000 km.

The seaport system includes ports located in Chu Lai and Ky Ha. The ports are planned to handle up to 50,000 DWT ships and 12.7 million tonnes of cargo per year.
