The Ministry of Transport in Vietnam has plans to develop 130 km long four-lane expressway connecting Can Tho and Ca Mau. The highway is expected to improve connectivity in the region with faster road travel.
The highway will be developed in two phases. In phase 1 highway connecting Can Tho to Bac Lieu Province will be developed using public funds. In phase 2 the highway will continue to Ca Mau, which will be developed under Public-Private Partnership (PPP). The estimated investment for the project is approximately US$ 2 billion.
The expressway will be connected to My Thuan-Can Tho Expressway to improve connectivity.
