The Government of Uzbekistan in partnership with the International Finance Corporation has received the expression of interest from 45 companies for the development of a gas-fired power plant in the Syrdarya region.
In February 2020, the government has invited all interested parties to submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) for the finance, design, build, operate, maintain, and transfer of a 1,300 MW combined cycle gas turbine power plant under the public-private partnership (PPP) scheme.
On the basis of foregoing, the Ministry of Energy (MOE), the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade (MIFT), JSC National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan (NENU) and the Public-Private Partnership Development Agency (PPPDA) under the Ministry of Finance have announced the following list of interested parties that will exclusively participate in the tender:
