The Government of Uzbekistan has launched requests for qualification (RFQ) for the development of three solar photovoltaic projects each with individual capacities of 200 MWac.
The first tender covers the development of two solar projects in the Kattakurgan district of the Samarkand region and the Jizzakh region’s Gallaorol district. The selected developer will finance, build, own, and operate the solar projects under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme. The deadline for this competitive selection is on September 26, 2020. The projects are supported by the International Finance Corp (IFC) of the World Bank.
The second tender covers the 200 MW solar photovoltaic farm located in the Sherabad district of Surkhandarya province. The project is part of the 1 GW of solar deployments in Uzbekistan in partnership with the Asian Development Bank. The deadline for this tender is on August 25, 2020.
The three projects have attracted interests from local and international developers.
