Skanska has signed a SEK8.8 billion (USD834 Million) contract with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) to expand and make operational and multimodal improvements to 7.2 km of the I-405 corridor in Bothell, Washington, USA.
The aim of the I-405, Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project is to establish a dual express toll lane (ETL) system spanning from just south of the I-405/SR 522 interchange to the I-405/SR 527 interchange. This comprehensive project encompasses the construction of new lanes, the implementation of direct access ramps, improvements to interchanges, the development of infrastructure to support the Stride Bus Rapid Transit program, and the installation of new fish passage culverts within the project's vicinity.
Construction is anticipated to begin in November 2023 with expected completion in late 2028.
