The State Universities Retirement System (SURS) of Illinois has approved the commitment of US$50 million to the Ember Infrastructure Fund II.
Ember Infrastructure directs investments into projects within the infrastructure sector, aiming to diminish carbon intensity, boost resource efficiency, and fortify climate resilience. At present, Ember Infrastructure manages around US$12 million in assets from SURS, allocated through a commitment to Ember Infrastructure Fund I. SURS maintains a non-core real assets portfolio valued at US$2.5 billion.
