The Alexandroupolis Port Authority has signed a contract for the project regarding the connection of the new commercial pier of the port with the new Ring Road in Greece.

The project to connect the new commercial pier at the port of Alexandroupolis with the new Ring Road includes constructing a 1.5-km road within the port area. Part of a broader EUR 18.2 million (US$ 19.7 million) strategic upgrade for APA S.A., it also involves dredging the port basin and shipping channel. The EUR 4 million (US$ 4.3 million) road project contract was signed by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy and TEKAL S.A. This new road will direct commercial traffic to the Egnatia Odos Motorway, bypassing urban areas.
