The Agency for the Promotion of Private Investment (PROINVERSIÓN) has awarded the company IBT Health LLC the projects for ESSALUD Specialized Hospitals in Piura and Chimbote, Peru.

The specialized health services project in Piura, which is expected to cost around US$183 million, and the Chimbote Specialized Hospital in Ancash, requiring an estimated investment of US$140 million, involve several components. These include the procurement and replacement of equipment, maintenance of hospital infrastructure, as well as the provision of general services and support services in 2 categories: 

• gray robe modality which includes 10 services such as laundry, food, security, waste management, cleaning, maintenance, equipment acquisition and maintenance, and intra-hospital logistics; and
• green modality which includes 3 services: hemodialysis, clinical laboratory, and imaging.

The specialized hospitals in Piura and Chimbote will cater to complex diseases that are currently being treated in hospitals located in Lima and Chiclayo. In Piura, the new services offered will include clinical oncology, radiotherapy oncology, oncological surgery, neurosurgery, head and neck surgery, thoracic and cardiovascular surgery, plastic surgery and burns, among others. In Chimbote, the new services provided will encompass neurosurgery, clinical oncology, magnetic resonance imaging, and clinical hematology.
