Canadian alternative investment firm Brookfield Asset Management Inc. has said that it has raised US$12 billion for its latest flagship global private equity Brookfield Capital Partners VI fund (BCP VI).
BCP VI is a global fund that will invest in a wide range of industries, including industrials, consumer, healthcare, financial services, and technology. The BCP VI fund raised US$12 billion, exceeding its initial target of US$10 billion. Brookfield pledged US$3.5 billion to the fund, highlighting its shared interests with fellow investors. The fund's Limited Partners comprise a varied mix of institutional investors, such as public and private pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, and family offices. The fund has committed about US$4 billion to acquire six businesses and continues to provide co-investment opportunities to its partners.
