CSC Costruzioni, the Swiss subsidiary of the Webuild Group and its consortium partners have won the N2 Gentilino-Lamone (Lot 202) highway maintenance contract in Switzerland.
CSC Costruzioni is set to lead the consortium, holding a 35% stake, for the upcoming project. The consortium's other members include Implenia, Edilstrada, Matteo Muttoni Costruzioni, and Casada. The project, known as "USTRA EP 28 Gentilino-Lamone," has been commissioned by the Federal Roads Office (USTRA). Its objective is to modernize and perform extensive maintenance on slightly over 6 km of the N2 highway. This stretch encompasses the area from the north entrance of the Gentilino tunnel to Lamone, incorporating an interchange located to the north of Lugano.
Within this project, Lot 202 focuses on major civil engineering tasks, which involve the reconstruction and modernization of 27 structures, bridges, underpasses, and related components. The execution phase of this project poses a notable challenge as it aims to be carried out while maintaining the flow of traffic. An interesting aspect of this initiative is that approximately 80% of the asphalt needed for the highway repaving will be sourced from recycled materials.
