The USA president and Democratic lawmakers agreed that US$ 2 trillion is needed to overhaul the US infrastructure in a meeting held on April 30, 2019. Rebuilding the aging infrastructure of the USA is one of the bipartisan issues faced by the government of the USA. All political authorities stressed the need for repairing the existing infrastructure and modernizing transportation, broadband, water and power projects. In previous such meetings, no outcome was derived.
Both parties have found common ground on priorities of the infrastructure plan to focus on. Before the meeting, a coalition of groups unveiled an infrastructure road map stating that the majority of funding should come from the federal government.
