The Ministry of Transport has secured international financing for its two road projects tendered under private-public partnership scheme. The financing agreement will be sourced from the commitments of the United States of America (USA) and China for the Road Corridor C (route 7,33) and Road Corridor B (route 5) projects.
The US Investment agency, OPIC will be providing funds for the Road Corridor C project located in Mendoza. The project is won by the construction company Cartellone. The Letters of Intent between the OPIC and the Argentina Government would be approximately US$ 3,000 million. The focus will be on energy projects but it will include a chapter for corridor C, in which US$ 801 million would be invested during the four years of construction.
Furthermore, China will finance the Road Corridor B project with its partners China Construction America (CCA) and Green SA, the developers of the project. HSBC bank will structure the financing for the project.
