The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has approved US$200 million in financing for a Solid Waste Management (SWM) project in Bangladesh.
The project includes the following components:
The project aims to improve environmental and public health conditions by enhancing SWM services. It involves constructing SWM infrastructure, including waste collection, transportation, processing, and disposal facilities, along with dumpsite remediation in 20 ULBs. The project focuses on the ownership of land by the ULBs for these activities
