Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) have awarded a fixed-price contract of US$138.6 million to GIP HWY 3 Inc. to design, build and finance the Highway 3 Widening Project – Essex to Leamington in Canada.

The project aims to expand Highway 3 from a two-lane to a four-lane road, spanning from the Arner Townline (Essex Road 23) near the Town of Essex to Union Avenue (Essex Road 34) near the Town of Leamington. Construction is scheduled to commence in 2024, with the improved highway anticipated to be fully accessible to travellers by 2027.
