The Purdue University Board of Trustees has approved detailed plans and specifications for the construction of two new residence halls, to be undertaken by a private partner.
Plenary Properties Purdue LLC, a consortium of Plenary Group USA Concessions, Corvias, Gilbane Building Co., MSKTD & Associates, Mackey Mitchell Architects, Schneider Corp., MKSK and Applied Engineering, was selected as the preferred proposer for the public-private partnership (P3) in July. The Board approved the terms of the P3 agreement in August.
This latest approval concerns more specific project details, including exact square footage and height, room typologies and counts, and major maintenance items and replacement intervals.
The two new residence halls will altogether contain 1,300 beds. Construction will begin in late November, with the two halls ready for student occupancy in time for the 2020-21 academic year.
