The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announced today that it is accepting expressions of interest from transit project sponsors for the Pilot Program for Expedited Project Delivery.
The program allows FTA to select up to eight capital transit projects for expedited grant awards. Projects must be supported through a public-private partnership (P3), be operated and maintained by employees of an existing public transportation provider, and have a federal share not exceeding 25% of the project capital cost.
FTA is particularly interested in working with project sponsors who are considering value capture techniques as part of their project financing.
Eligible applicants include state or local government authorities. To date, the US Congress has appropriated a total of US$25 million for the program.
Expressions of interest must be submitted by 13 November 2018.
