The UK Infrastructure Bank (UKIB) has announced its collaboration with the cities of Bristol, Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire in the three pilot projects as the bank creates a new advisory function for local authorities across the UK.

The pilot projects focus on bus electrification, public transport and local low-carbon energy infrastructure. The three projects include:

  1. Bristol City Council's implementation of the City Leap partnership;
  2. Transport for Greater Manchester's conversion of a third of the city region's total bus fleet to zero-emission;
  3. West Yorkshire United Authority's development of a public transport programme.

The projects address local governments' challenges and demonstrate innovative approaches to public and private strategic partnerships and financing models.
