Rochford District Council has announced that it is seeking to procure a development partner to redevelop a number of Council-owned sites in the district, located in Essex, south-east England. The estimated total value of the project is GBP16 million (US$20.9 million).
The selected partner will refurbish and extend Freight House in Rochford to house a planned Civic Suite and office accommodation with public facing services, transforming the site into more efficient offices for Council staff and partners, as well as a Chamber for Council meetings and a community space.
In addition, the development partner will redevelop the Mill Arts and Events Centre and Civic Suite in Rayleigh, additional Council offices and another Council-owned site in Rochford. The redevelopment is expected to be predominantly residential with some elements of commercial and community space.
Interested partners are invited to complete a short developer questionnaire. The Council requests that completed questionnaires are returned by 15 March 2019. A contract notice for the project is scheduled to be published on July 1, 2019.
