UK announces Bidders' day for PSBP Batch 2

The UK Government has announced that the bidders' day for the Priority School Building Programme (PSBP) north east private finance batch will take place on Wednesday, 17 July 2013. This follows the successful bidders' days for the Hertfordshire, Luton and Reading private finance batch and the PSBP aggregator model.

The PSBP north east private finance batch comprises of 12 schools including 2 first schools - Hetton School in Sunderland and Mandale Mill Primary School in Stockton on Tees. The main part of the bidders' day will take place at Hetton School on the afternoon of 17 July and there will be optional tours of Mandale Mill Primary School on the morning of 18 July. The bidders' day will provide an opportunity to hear more about this batch and details of how interested parties can get involved.

The UK's Education Funding Agency (EFA) announced on 10 May, 2013, 46 schools will be rebuilt using private finance in 5 batches under the next steps of the Priority School Building Programme (PSBP). The batches will use the government's new approach to public private partnerships, known as PF2.

On June 28th, the EFA has published the first tender in the Official Journal of the European Union.
