The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) is set to issue RFP documents to four pre-qualified bidding teams in June 2019. The four pre-qualified bidding teams for the project are, led by China Communications Construction Company, China State Construction Engineering Corporation, Strabag, and Vinci Concessions, respectively.
The Kampala - Jinja Expressway project will be developed with an estimated value of about US$1.5 billion, the expressway project will connect the Ugandan capital Kampala with Jinja, an industrial town in the east of the country. The selected private partner will design, build and operate the road for 30 years.
