TxDOT launches tender for DBM highway contract

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has launched a tender process to develop the Loop 375-Border Highway West Extension Project in El Paso, TX.

TxDOT is looking for entities to design, construct and maintain the project through a Public Private Partnership Agreement.

The project will add capacity by providing a new four-lane, controlled access facility from Racetrack Drive west of downtown El Paso to approximately one mile east of Park Street in El Paso County - a project length of approximately 9 miles.

Texas Department of Transportation's current construction cost estimates for the Project are approximately $500 - $550 million ($2013).

The private partner will:

  1. develop, design and construct the Project; and
  2. maintain the Project for a period of 15 years.

A State Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) has been completed for the project and a Record of Decision was issued on June 7, 2013.

The deadline for submission of Statement of Qualifications is 12 September 2013. An Industry Workshop will be held on August 14th.
