The Ministry of Public Works in Chile has held the Reception of the Technical and Economic Bids for the La Serena Hospital concession.
A total of two offers were received from the companies Obrascón Huarte Lain SA and Acciona Concesiones Hospitalarias, formed by Acciona Concesiones SL and Concesiones Chile Holdings I SpA. The bidding process will continue with the Opening of Economic Bids on November 05, 2021. The concession is expected to be awarded during the first quarter of 2022.
The concession involves the development of a new high-complexity healthcare facility, which will mainly benefit the inhabitants of the La Serena, La Higuera, Vicuña and Paihuano communes. The La Serena Hospital project proposes the construction of a 121,000 sq meter area, providing the health system with 668 beds. With an estimated investment of US$258 million (CLF6,146,350), the project will have a concession term of 19 years.
