Colombia's National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has announced that it has received two bids for the Pacific Connection highway concession 3 (Autopistas de la Prosperidad).
On 5 June 2013, a total of 19 consortia submitted proposals in the EOIs phase, Ten of them were shortlisted in early August 2013.
The two consortia that bid for the project are the following:
Pacific Connection highway concession 3: includes La Pintada-La Felisa; La Felisa-Irra; La Felisa-Asia; Asia-La Virginia; Tesalia by-pass; and Irra-Tres Puertas. This concession has an investment of US$647 million and it has 231 kilometers, with 26 bridges and 3 tunnels.
The package Autopistas de la Prosperidad is formed by several highway PPP projects. Among them, we find Pacific Connection highway concession 1, Pacific Connection highway concession 2 and Pacific Connection highway concession 3.
On 22 May 2014, ANI awarded the Pacific Connection highway concession 2 to the P.S.F Concesión La Pintada consortium, which was the only bidder for the project. The project cost is estimated at P910,000 million (US$470 million). The project includes the stretches of Bolombolo-La Pintada (44km) and La Pintada-Primavera (54km). The project also involves the construction of 69 bridges and a 2.5km tunnel in Mulatos.
In April 2014, the Pacific Connection highway concession 1 received only two bids from the ten shortlisted consortia. The project includes the stretch Ancón Sur- Camilo Cé-Bolombolo. It has an estimated investment of US$1.06 billion, with a total length of 46 kilometers, with 20 bridges and two tunnels.
