Two Australian contractors shortlisted for billion-dollar Northside Hospital Project in Bruce

The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Government announced CPB Contractors and Multiplex Construction on its shortlist for the more than billion-dollar Northside Hospital Project in Bruce, ACT, Australia 5.6km northwest of the country’s capital, Canberra.

Canberra Health Services (CHS) announced that the new Northside hospital project will exceed AU$1 billion (US$678 million). The project will involve an Early Contractor Involvement contract, with tenders running through late 2024 and the final contract to be awarded in early 2025. The hospital will be located on the North Canberra Hospital campus in Bruce, offering modern facilities, more beds, and expanded services compared to the current offerings.

CPB is based in the Sydney metro area and is a subsidiary of Australia-based Cimic Group, which is owned by German Hochtief. Multiplex was founded in Australia and is currently owned by parent company Brookfield Business Partners (a subsidiary of Canada-based Brookfield Corporation). The construction company is headquartered in London, England, UK.
