Tutor Perini Corporation announced that its subsidiary, Lunda Construction Company, has been identified by the Illinois Department of Transportation as the apparent low bidder for a bridge replacement and highway improvement project valued at approximately US$136 million located on I-64, east of US‑1 near Grayville, Illinois, USA.
The project spans the Wabash River, dividing roadway jurisdiction between White County, Illinois, to the west of the river, and Posey County, Indiana, to the east. The improvement covers a total distance of 8,339 feet (1.58 miles) along I-64. It involves replacing the current dual bridges over the Wabash River and making roadway enhancements to connect the existing I-64 roadway to the new bridge structures. Contract award is projected for Q2 of 2024, with work expected to commence in Q3 of 2024 and substantial completion anticipated in Q4 of 2029.
