Turner Construction has announced the closing of its acquisition of Dornan Group, an Irish-headquartered specialist mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and engineering contractor.
Dornan will leverage Turner’s extensive experience in general contracting, while Turner will benefit from Dornan’s expertise in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and engineering, as well as its capability to deliver large-scale technical projects. This partnership creates a powerful synergy, combining Turner’s US$33 billion project backlog with Dornan’s EUR 1.6 billion (US$ 1.65 billion) backlog. The collaboration expands their project portfolio and resources, enabling both organizations to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions effectively.
Dornan will retain its established brand identity, operating as “Dornan – A Turner Company,” with its leadership team remaining unchanged to ensure continuity for employees, clients, and partners. This acquisition supports Turner’s global growth strategy while maintaining its strong presence in North America. Both companies are well-positioned to capitalize on opportunities in advanced technology markets, with more than US$20 billion in potential projects identified across Europe.
