National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) in Brazil has received a request to terminate the concession of BR-262 from the concessionaire Triunfo-Concebra. The authority received a re-bid request from Triunfo on April 13, 2020.

The authority will now carry out a new bidding process, from the qualification of the project by the Investment Partnership Program (PPI) to the effective conclusion of a new bidding process. During the completion of all stages, Concebra will be obliged to continue operating on the contracted sections and provide service to users.

Concebra currently manages 1,176.5 kilometers of federal highways. In addition to BR-262 , stretches of BR-060, BR-153 that connect Brasília (DF) to Betim (MG) comprising 47 cities are in contracts. The stretches of the highways were purchased in 2013 and the contract was valid for 30 years.

Triunfo Participações informed earlier this week, the decision to its members. In the document, the justification is the dissatisfaction with several unresolved problems such as imbalances in the concession contract, in addition to the “drastic change in the economic scenario in relation to the forecast and considered at the time of bidding”.
