Travis County Commissioners Court has voted to solicit proposals for the project from potential private partners. The solicitations will invite private entities to both donate land to the project and build the courthouse. This follows the rejection of a plan to deliver the courthouse through state funding, as residents voted against the issuing of a US$287 million bond in 2015
