TransEd has announced that the LRT Valley Line Southeast will not open in the summer of 2022 due to discovered cracks in several piers supporting elevated tracks.
Engineers are investigating the causes of cracks in the supports. TransEd, together with the authorities of Edmonton, is considering options for strengthening the support.

The company is building the first phase of the LRT, which will connect Mill Woods to downtown Edmonton via light rail for about 13.1 km.
