The King Fahd Causeway Authority has launched a tender for the appointment of a Transaction Advisor for the King Hamad Causeway project, which involves the development of a second causeway over the Gulf of Bahrain on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis.
The Transaction Advisor will be a consultancy consortium with financial, technical and legal specialists. Qualified consortiums shall be led by a recognized international financial consultancy firm with proven experience in accomplishing financial close for major transportation public-private partnership (PPP) projects worldwide.
The submission deadline is 21 February 2019.
The 25km King Hamad Causeway will have three lanes in each direction, for road-users, passenger trains and freight trains, respectively. It will relieve increasing congestion on the existing King Fahd Causeway, which opened in 1986.
